Have you ever met someone who cries a river on petty things or maybe someone who doesn’t cry at all? Someone who wants to meet people but avoids them every day or maybe someone who doesn’t want to face the world at all? Someone who nods when you talk but doesn’t say a word when you question them? Someone who needs your shoulder but is hesitant to ask? It’s DEPRESSION.
It’s time you stretch a hand to them, look them in the eye and ask what’s wrong.
We’ve all heard of depression & there are many websites that will list the causes that leads you to it. But it may happen to you just at the loss of someone near or a heartbreak from someone dear. A friend who ragged you in college or a boss underestimating you for your knowledge. It may happen because of a bad marriage or may force you to keep a lot of baggage.
Like our body gives us symptoms when there’s something wrong with it, similarly our brain gives us signs when our mental health needs attention.
These may come in the form of:
- Depressed mood
- Insomnia (difficulty sleeping) or hypersomnia (excessive sleeping)
- Fatigue or loss of energy
- Feelings of worthlessness or guilt
- Worsened ability to think, concentrate, or make decisions
- Recurrent thoughts of death or suicide, or attempt at suicide
It’s time that we look around us. And if we notice someone feeling restless, we make it a habit to go to them and offer them support without any hesitation.
Whatever be the case, talking it out is the first step to tackling this silent monster. Just hear them out without any judgment and you will gradually see how they come out of their invisible cocoon.
Do your bit & help save a soul. We’re doing the needful by providing holistic health care treatments to people who are in need. Depression is a silent sob for help and someone needs to hear it before it gets too late.
In India itself, there are more than 10 million cases every year. Observe. Think. Act. Don’t wait.
